The final country we visited was Italy, though we stopped at two separate cities there. After staying three nights in Paris, we took a two-hour flight to Rome. We would be staying there for four nights total, though we would only be exploring for two days. Shortly after arriving, we ate a close-by restaurant before getting some rest as the sun had already disappeared hours ago. The next morning, we first visited Papal Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican, or simply Saint Peter’s Basilica which is a church built in the Renaissance style located in Vatican City. After we visited the chapel, we made our way to the Sistine Chapel. We did not however go inside, unfortunately, as there was a strict entrance allowance, for New Year’s would be in less than two days. So after our short stop at the basilica, we made our way to the Sistine Chapel. Afterward, we visited the Roman Forum, which are ruins from centuries ago. Shortly after, we stopped at a restaurant, followed by our wondrous visit to the most well-known site of Italy, the Colleseum. The architecture of the Colleseum was incredible, along with all other aspects. We spent a couple of hours here, before settling down for the day. The following day, our first activity planned was to pay a visit to the beautiful fountain known as The Trevi Fountain. It was a beautiful fountain and was still in perfect shape, besides the fact that it was made in the 18th century. The final site we stopped at in Rome was Capitoline Museums. Yet another amazing point of interest. It was now time to head out to our final destination, Venice.
Venice, Italy is just like any other small town, well at least besides the fact, that it’s floating on top of water! Instead of cars, people own boats. Rather than buckling up in a car to go school, you hop aboard a speed boat. And so our final destination, on our Europe trip took us to one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Venice. We arrived at Venice, after a four-hour train ride from Rome, on New Year’s Eve. And because Venice is a small town, we had the pleasure of exploring the best way possible, by foot. We arrived at the train station of Venice close to one hour before sunset. So we walked around the streets of Venice, technically the sidewalks, as the streets were water, enjoying our last days in Europe. Since it was New Year’s Eve, we were not able to ride the gondola, but we were content just by walking and exploring. The next morning, we enjoyed Italy’s famous gelato as we made our way to the train station.~
To sum up, our European adventure, we learned many interesting facts and witnessed incredible architecture. 100% recommend visiting Europe!!!
After staying two nights in London, we had mostly gotten used to the time difference. Paris was just one hour ahead of London, so we were feeling fairly energetic after our hour and a half flight from London. The sun was already setting by the time we left the airport, so we decided to just call it a day. We would be staying in Paris for three nights, technically two as we didn’t do any activities upon arriving. Before settling down, we did however walk around the streets of Paris for a couple of hours. We stopped by at a small cafe and bought a few of Paris’s famous macaroons and chocolate, and they were delicious. The next morning we first stopped by at a restaurant to eat Paris’s well-known croissants, and as you can guess they were exquisite. We first visited Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, better known as the Notre Dame. Being made in the 1100’s it was still in excellent shape, and was downright beautiful. Our next stop was the Arc of Triomphe, or as translated in English, The Arc of Triumph. We hung around there for a little while then headed out to for a brief visit to Place de la Concorde, followed by a quick stop at a nearby coffee shop, enjoying French delicacies, such as crepes, eclairs, and more macaroons. The sun was setting now, so we began making our way to our night river cruise of Paris. It was an extraordinary part of our trip, being able to see all of Paris. After that, we ended our day strolling around Champs Elysees, one of the most famous streets in the world. The next morning, we woke up early, as we would be making our next stop to Italy, by mid-afternoon. We started our day early by visiting the most well-known landmark of Paris, Tour de Eiffel, or better known as The Eiffel Tower. We spent a few hours there, slowly making our way up to the top. Each level’s view was breath-taking, but nothing compared to the uppermost floor. We ended our magical trip to France here, to continue on to our next destination, Rome.
